Cowboy Burgers

As you all know one of my hobbies is collecting recipe books and trying new recipes. I found this recipe over at http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/. I made them for dinner last night and they were a hit. When i can find something that everyone will eat i love it. That doesn't happen very often so this one is going in my book. To get the recipe head over to Robyn's Recipes at http://yumbelievablerecipes.blogspot.com/.

Lessons from our teenager

We have such a wise and knowledgeable teenager. He is always teaching us something. This weeks lesson was "How to not piss your teenager off" (his words not mine). He was even nice enough to make us a list for the fridge just incase we forgot. How considerate of him.

1. when no one will take him to the gym, but tells him he is getting fat.

2. when his dad tells him you don't need a gym membership to work out (it makes me feel stupid)

3. when his dad tells him he has to put his phone away or he will take it... (even when it's youth conference and is suposed to be fun)

4. when someone says, "You better....".

5. when his dad lectures him on going to mutual and fasting and tithing.

6. when someone talks to him in a condesending or disrespectful tone.

SPRING BREAK

Spring Break went by so fast. We had a busy week. We went to Monticello Utah for Grandma Dalton's 90th Birthday. We also went down to the ranch for an Easter egg hunt and a picnic. The kids had a great time and even got to feed a bottle to a baby calf, whos mama abandoned it.

We also got to see the ancient indian ruins at the Mesa Verde National Park in Coloradao. WOW was it an awesome sight.

We also went to the Coral Pink sand dunes with the Mohler's. Unfortunately for my family i got sick and we had to leave early. Gary and Sheila wanted to do a grandchildren picture since we had every one there. It is quite the production and i understand why we haven't had one in a while. To see the event click on the link below. Hannah Mohler (top left) made every girl cousin a pink tye dye shirt that said "Dirt Chicks" on it and had each of there names on the back! I love that idea and don't they all look so cute in them?!

HAPPY SPRING BREAK!

Just thought i would share a little something with you and give you a laugh to start the new week. This picture is of Stewart's gross toe nails that haven't been clipped for probably close to a year. He told us he needed new shoes because his were to tight when really those toe nails were sooo long they made his shoe size go up a few. The picture is pretty gross but the video of me cutting his toe nails was pretty funny! Have a great week!!

Highlights of the week

Travis has finally finished a Cabinetry project he's been working on and someday i hope he will take a picture for me to post so you can see his awesome work!

I had a girls weekend. No hubbies or kids just mom's and sisters and our many projects. I finally finished my pear quilt. Yahoo!
Kenady got to go see the movie "HOP" with her cousin Sydney for her birthday and also got to go see the Easter Bunny at the park.

Logan finally earned enough money for a basketball that he has been wanting. Unfortunately it hasn't come yet. The poor kid walks to the mailbox everyday hoping it will be there.

Stewart has learned a new trick on his bike. Its called a 180 half cab.

Swimming in April?!

For the last few weeks Logan has been begging me to go swimming. I keep trying to explain to him that even though the weather has been warm for a few days the pool temp is not warm yet but the begging still continues. I decided i had had enough and said, "ok go put your swimsuit on. We are going swimming." Kenady decided she wanted to be included also so off we went to grandma and grandpa mohlers house to prove to my children it was to cold. We'll my plan backfired. I had forgotten that children adapt to things better than adults. I remember being a kid and not having the cold or the heat bother me and now I can not imagine trying to get in the water this early in the year. I have a hard time in june and july! Oh to be a kid again! They had so much fun and i had to pry them out of the pool. I guess we better go buy some swimsuits! Logan and Kenady have also started a blog.
