HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This year Halloween was alot of fun. I wish it could be on Saturday every year. We had the whole day to celebrate. We started off with pumpkin carving. I was surprised at how great they all looked especially Kenady's pumpkin. The only thing i helped them do was the tracing. We even saved all our seeds and roasted them. Yummy!

Next we made philly cheesesteak sandwiches and watched Monsters vs. Aliens movie. After we made sugar cookies and decorated them. The kids made cute pumpkin and bat shapes and i forgot to take a picture of them but they were really cute. We went and booed grandma and grandpa stewart with a plate of them but we got caught. We aren't very good at booing people.

After making cookies the kids got ready to trick or treat. Stewart was a vampire, logan was a pirate and kenady was a sweetheart bat. Stewart has decided we aren't cool enough to trick or treat with so he went with some friends to a haunted house and hung out with his buddies. We hooked up a small trailer to the back of a 4 wheeler and took logan and kenady around to people we knew. The weather was perfect and no wind. Gotta love fall in Vegas. They had a fun night and have waaay to much candy which i will be hiding!

Broken Stewart

Stewart with Gr. and Gr. at LVYO fall concert

I can't believe October is almost over. It is scary how fast time is going. This month has been so busy mainly with Stewart and his Orchestra career. This year he has decided to not only be in advanced orchestra but also play for chambers and Las Vegas Youth Orchestra. I am excited that he wants to be so involved but i also spend alot of time in my car between all the practices and concerts. This week everything came to a screeeching halt when stewart decided to break his hand. When i say decided i mean he had a choice whether or not to break it it. I guess the thing to do in the P.E. locker room is this game where you see how hard you can hit knuckles with other people. It sounds painfully stupid but they are 13 years old, long story short stewart's hand didn't hold up so good. We had an x-ray of it taken this week but it was to swollen to tell. The doctor thinks it may just be a hair line fracture but he still can't move it and they wrapped it all up so you can even see his fingers. Not good because now he can't play his cello and he has a concert today he will be missing, and it happens to be his right hand so doing school work has been difficult. I hope he has learned his lesson. On the good side of things his Orchestra teacher took all the advanced kids to see, Midori, out at Artemus Ham Hall. She is an awesome violinist who has been called one of the most important violinists of our time. It was an awesome concert!Mrs. Smith could only take 4 parents so she put all our names in a hat and mine was picked. How lucky was i! It was fun to go hang out with a bunch of 13 year olds. One girl asked me if i was stewart's sister. It was obviously dark outside but i told her she made my whole year.
THIS IS A PICTURE OF MIDORI

Logan's Mystery Girl

I found this cute little letter in Logan's folder. He said someone left it on his desk one day. I thought how cute it is that someone has a crush on him. I love how she spelled Mystery girl! When i asked him if he knew who it was he said yes. I asked him how he found out and he said he asked every girl in his class. (real smooth Logan) I told him he is too young to like girls and they are nothing but trouble until after his mission. I hope he always believes me! Luckily he is only in 3rd grade and girls are still gross to him.

THE BRIDES OF GALLATIN COUNTY

For the last month i have had my head in these books. I know my family is probably glad to see me done with this series. I have been staying up way to late at night reading but i love them. I love getting sucked into a book. These books are based in the 1800's and it's about 3 sisters and their trials and triumphs. I really liked this author and she is a Christian so the books are clean. If your looking for a good book you'll love these and i found them at the library so you don't have to spend a penny!
The series is called "The Brides of Gallatin County" by Tracie Peterson.

Flashback FHE

Last night for FHE we met up with my sisters and parents and even Grandma Stewart and went to see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. They had it playing on the big screen at the Station casinos. That has been one of my favorite movies since i was a teenager. I'm always amazed when someone tells me they have never seen it or heard of it. I was especially surprised when grandma told me she had never seen it. Travis and Stewart were not to happy about going but Travis laughed through the whole thing and said he liked it. Stewart pretended to be bored but i think secretly he really enjoyed it and of course Logan nd Kenady loved it!

CUTE IN CAPS

For the longest time Logan has been wanting a Fidora hat. He has been asking me for months, mainly because Stewart has one. I keep putting it off because i am not a big fan of Fidora's, but i was feeling kind of bad for him this afternoon because Travis and Stewart went shooting and Logan was so upset about it i think the whole neighborhood heard him crying up in his room. I decided that buying him the hat would be just the ticket to make everything better. I took him to the store and he was all set to buy the ugly hat until he saw these cute caps. I love these hats and i am so glad they are coming back in style. He didn't need much persuading but he ended up with the cap instead of a Fidora! YEAH! Now if i could just talk stewart out of wearing his hat!

My mom sent me these pictures of my Dad when he was a boy. They remind me alot of Logan and he's even got on his cute cap! He was such a cute boy!

Our photo shoot

I made Kenady this fun little dress this summer and i wanted to do a photo shoot of her in it before she out grew it. What better place then the ranch to take pictures, right? and Michael had his awesome camera there so we decided to take a few. She is so fun to take pictures of because she really gets into it and even does her own poses. Girls are fun!

September Sleepover @ Grandma & Grandpa's house

This was some of our fun this weekend. We had a sleepover at Grandma & Grandpa Mohler's house. We all had a great time just hanging out together. Friday night we had pizza, played games and watched movies and stayed up way past our bedtimes. Saturday we woke up to a big breakfast Grandma made for everyone and we went swimming. I didn't do a very good job of getting pictures this time but i did get a few out at the pool so i made a little collage of some of the fun! Stewart is not in one picture. He brought his friend Caleb and i think i saw them once the whole time we were their. The kids all had alot of fun and didn't want to leave. It's a fun tradition i hope we can do every year! My broken car

This will be my car for the next week. I was in an accident a few days ago in stewart's school parking lot. I have always hated driving that boy to and from school because it is chaos over there. People are in such a hurry and it seems like the parents are all in foul moods. Our plan was that he would ride his bike this year but his pedal on one side is broken. We definitly have to get that bike fixed. Anyways, i was in line to get out of the parking lot and the lady behind me thought she was in a bigger hurry then the rest of us and tried to go around me in her big escalade. I could see she wasn't going to have enough room and she ran into my back bumper and the back side of my car and broke my back light. Fortunately she had insurance and my car is on its way to looking normal again but i am stuck driving this small car for the next week. i asked for a small suv and the guy said he would have one for me. Does this look like a small suv? Stewart keeps saying "This car is so small, if someone hits us we are all going to die". Can you tell we aren't used to being in small cars! It will be nice to get my car back. This one is nice but its a rental so it stinks inside. Got to love smokers!

Yummy Pancakes

My mom introduced these to me this summer at the beach and they are now my favorite pancakes. If you like sweet potatoes you will love these. They have a little cinnamon in the mix and you add a lil butter and syrup on top and they are yummy! They are so sweet they are almost like having dessert. I made breakfast for dinner tonight and added cooked and diced bacon in the mix and the family loved em. The only place i have been able to find them is Albertson's. I don't shop their but i always make a special trip in for these!

My little Artist

Last night Travis and I went to the Temple. I haven't been for a while and it was nice to be their and just feel the peace and be stress free for a few minutes. When we got home it was pretty late and Logan and Kenady were asleep. Kenady had left a big mess of her art supplies out all over the family room and as i walked over to clean it all up, right there in the center of her mess were the 2 cutest pictures i have ever seen. I love her drawings especially her hands and feet that she draws. Her detail is getting so much better the older she gets but these are by far my favorites so far.

I'm Back!

I can't believe I am here typing but i suddenly have alot of time on my hands. The kids went back to school today and it was a beautifully quite day! I start my preschool next week so i have to live it up this week! We have had a fun and busy summer. We rented a beach house with my family for a week and had an awesome time and we went to Monticello for a week during the rodeo and fair. I was sick the whole week but the kids had a great time. We also went to the ranch in Wyoming for a week. It was relaxing and i pretty much didn't see the kids until it was dark. They played hard riding horses, riding 4 wheelers, helping uncle brent with different chores and just having good fun. My kids did not watch a T.V. or play video games for 2 weeks. THAT is record setting! Travis and Stewart also had their Scout camps this summer. Stewart learned how to Canoe, how to do Archery, and wilderness survival where he had to sleep in the wilderness for 1 night with only a sleeping bag. He said that was the best time at scouts he has ever had! It's been a long and hot summer and i am really looking forward to fall if we get one this year.
