Canadian Cruise

We had the opportunity to go on a cruise a few weeks ago. I have been so busy i haven't been able to post anything about our fun time but better late then never right? We went with Jason & Tiffany, Jim & Cheri, Wes & Mary and Grandma's & Grandpa's Mohler & Forrest. We had a great time and the kids were happy as long as we didn't get off the ship. They had a fun camp for the kids with lots of activities and of course all the food they could eat and swimming everyday. Doesn't get much better then that. It was really cool just to see some places we haven't seen yet like Seattle, Washington and Victoria, Canada. My favorite place was the Butchart Gardens. You felt like you were in a storybook or something it was to beautiful to be real. It was great just to get away and spend some quality time with my family. I took over 500 pictures so i will just share a few with you.

SPRING ORCHESTRA CONCERT

Stewart had his spring concert this last week and i think that was my favorite one so far. He did such a great job. It's amazing to see how far they have all come from concert to concert. He has about 30 minutes of music so i picked a few of my favorites to put on my blog. The Viva La Vida song the whole orchestra played as the last song of the night and my little camera just doesn't do it justice. There was over 250 instruments filling the air. It was awesome! Click on the links below to here his awesomness!

Last week was Spring Break for me and the kids. I was really looking forward to having a little break from the everyday life and just relaxing but when you are trying to entertain a 13 year old, an 8 year old and a 6 year old it is anything but relaxing. We had a very busy week but the kids had fun and seeing the smiles on their faces made it all worth it! Hands down everybodys favorite place was the Adventuredome. Our last ride of the day was the water ride because we didn't want to be wet all day. Logan kept telling us he was NOT going on that! We had to drag him on and of course he loved it. I had to get this picture because our faces in it are just classic. It makes me laugh every time i look at it.

Where did all her hair go? I can't believe i actually agreed to this but after the last week of crying every morning while trying to get knots and snarls out of her hair i finally agreed to chop it off. She has been asking me to cut it for a few weeks now and i guess i was scared to cut off all that long hair. 5 1/2 inches to be exact. I'm sad but also happy! Her hair looks so healthy now and no more tangles!

Sew Cute!!

I found this cute skirt on Heather Baileys website. She has made this cute skirt with her new fabrics, which i love. They are so bright and fun. She had the pattern for the skirt that you could download so i decided to give it a try. I found her fabrics at the Quiltique shop. The skirt was so fun and easy to make i'm ready to make another.
I asked Kenady if i could take a couple of shots of her in her new skirt and of course she was up for it. She is so funny to take pictures of because she really gets into it and when you are finished she will say "Just a few more, please?!" so we have about 30 pictures of her posing in her skirt, but i thought 2 would be o.k. for my blog! Needless to say she can't wait for church on Sunday!

Stewart and Logan got on me this morning because they aren't on my list of bloggers anymore. I took them off because a few months ago they said they weren't going to blog anymore. They have both been blogging alot lately so i told them i would add them back on and let everyone know they are back in business. Also for those of you who have private blogs i am sad to say i don't have you listed anymore because everytime i try to put your password in and open it my computer freezes up on me. I don't know why this is happening but it is really frustrating because i have to shut the whole computer down and start it back up. It's not just one blog but all of them. I am really sad because i don't get to see what is going on in everyone's lifes anymore. Does anybody else have this problem or is it just me?

Cafe Rio Chicken Tortilla Soup

I found this recipe and tried it last night. It is sooo yummy i thought i would share it!

1 recipe taco chicken (recipe follows)
1 lb. chicken breasts
2 juicy limes
a splash of red wine vinegar
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Juice the limes and combine with a couple splashes of red wine vinegar. Add garlic and pour over chicken. Turn chicken occasionally to marinate all over. Marinate at least 4 hours. Combine spices and rub all over chicken. Grill on barbeque. Let chicken rest 10 minutes before slicing so you don't lose all the juice. Now you are ready to make the soup.

1 large onion, chopped
1 T. garlic, minced
4 cans chicken broth
1 15oz. can diced tomatoes
2 jalapeno peppers
1/4 c. fresh lime juice (3-4 limes)
1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper

In a large pot over medium heat add 3T. olive oil and onions. Saute 4 minutes. Add garlic and minced Jalapenos without seeds and cook a few more minutes. Add diced chicken, chicken broth and tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. While soup is simmering, juice the limes and set aside. Right before serving, add lime juice to the soup. Ladle soup into bowls and add toppings. We like crushed tortilla chips, grated cheese and avocados.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENADY!

Where has the time gone?! I can't believe my baby turned 6 years old today. I was looking through her pictures today and missing all the little years. Yes, it makes me miss having a baby. Luckily i have lots of sisters who have babies i can love and send home. Anyways, Kenady has definitely kept us on our toes. She has that spunky, sassy personality. She's also known as the terminator in our house because she can destroy things within a matter of minutes. I thought maybe she would grow out of this but just the other day she decided to carve a couple of K's into my beautiful coffee table. URGH!! She does have that sweet soft side to her that i love. She is always up for a cuddle or to give me a foot rub or brush my hair and do some funky hair do just in time to go pick the boys up from school.(stewart loves that) She has been my little 24/7 buddy for the last 6 years. I can't believe she will be going to 1st grade this fall. Whatever will i do with all my time?! I love her and i'm so glad she was sent to our family. Happy Birthday KK!

This is Kenady with her new bike and her lovely Sharpay sunglasses! What a Diva!!

Travis has started a new project which means he will be in the shop most of his free time. His uncle had started making a saddle before he passed away a few years ago and wasn't able to work on it much so Travis decided it would be fun to teach himself how to make a saddle but he didn't want to jump into it and ruin the saddle without a little practice first so he decided to make a belt for his guns. All i know is there is alot of hammering and loud noises that go into making a belt but they turned out pretty cool. I think he's ready for the saddle!

Stewart's Solo Ensemble

This morning Stewart had his first Solo Ensemble. He did a duet with his friend Zoe and then he did a solo. He did a great job and I am so proud of him for wanting to try new things. His private cello teacher has also invited him to go and see her perform tonight. She is in the Philharmonic Symphony. I think it will be a great experience for him to see an orchestra like that perform. To see Stewart and Zoe perform click on the link.
